Fugu

Fugu is a multi-agent AI system from Sakana AI that learns to assemble and coordinate expert agents for each task rather than relying on fixed workflows. Accessible via a single OpenAI-compatible API, it offers two variants: Fugu for balanced performance and Fugu Ultra for maximum quality on demanding problems. The system draws on research from two ICLR 2026 papers — TRINITY (a Thinker/Worker/Verifier coordinator) and Conductor (reinforcement learning-based orchestration) — to dynamically select and switch between specialized models based on task requirements.
